Netflix ha acquistato nel 2018 i diritti della popolare serie televisiva di anime giapponese della fine anni novanta. Le riprese sono state lunghe, anche per via dell’infortunio di uno tra i protagonisti, John Cho. Cowboy Bebop sta però per arrivare, arricchendo ulteriormente l’offerta della piattaforma di streaming. Gli appassionati di anime giapponesi attendono il trailer ufficiale.
Sempre più le serie animate giapponesi diventano veri e propri colossal con remake: questo è quello che accade a Cowboy Bebop di cui attendiamo entro l’anno la distribuzione su Netflix. Le riprese di Cowboy Bebop sono state davvero lunghe: iniziate nel 2019 sono terminate nel 2021. L’adattamento in modalità live action promette di essere un grande successo secondo quanto ha dichiarato lo showrunner della serie André Namec. Gli autori della serie pare siano andati oltre la creazione del semplice remake di una serie anime che ha fortemente influenzato una generazione. In autunno, probabilmente, vedremo il loro lavoro. Il cast di Cowboy Bebop
André Namec si sofferma sul cast che è stato presentato al pubblico. Vedremo nei panni di Spike Spiegel, Jet Black e Faye Valentine protagonisti della serie, John Cho, Mustafa Shakir e Daniella Pineda. I personaggi Vicious e Julia saranno invece interpretati da Alex Hassell e Elena Satin.
L’attenzione e curiosità dei fan e dei giornalisti va però sul personaggio di Ed, l’hacker della squadra di Cowboy Bebop. The showrunner answers vaguely when asked about Ed.

Cowboy Bebop
Cowboy Bebop is based on the cult series by Shinichirō Watanabe that has won numerous awards and has been appreciated not only for its script and animation, but also for its extraordinary soundtrack. The story tells of a group of bounty hunters who escape from their past. They find themselves together navigating the solar system and hunting down the most heinous criminals. They are like Wild West cowboys, but operating in space. They move from planet to planet to hunt down the most dangerous criminals. Their spaceship is called Bebop.
The series that we will see on Netflix will not be a simple adaptation of the original episodes.
The authors and showrunners have continued to dig into the characteristics of the characters, studying in depth the past history of the souls. Each episode will have more or less direct nods to objects, names and connections from the past series. The challenge is with the fans: will they be able to find all the references?
