The Garmin Vivofit 4 has a battery life of 12 months, but the battery is not rechargeable. On sale in Italy in the coming months at a price of 79.99 euros
Garmin announces the release of the Vivofit 4, one of its flagship fitness trackers. The new version of the wearable promises an autonomy of more than 12 months thanks to the two SR43 button batteries. But that's not the only new feature: the design has also been partly changed to make the activity tracker more comfortable on the arm.
The US company has become a major player in the activity tracker and sportwatch industry. The Garmin Vivofit 4 is dedicated to those who are looking for a device with top-of-the-line features, but not too high price. The fitness tracker can be used for any physical activity and thanks to the Garmin Connect application you can analyze the data and study it closely to see if your daily workouts are producing improvements. The Vivofit 4 will initially be available only in the United States, but will arrive in Europe (and therefore also in Italy) in early 2018.
The features of the Garmin Vivofit 4
The Vivofit 4 features a very small screen with 88×88 pixel resolution with 8 colors. By connecting the activity tracker with your smartphone through Bluetooth, you can receive notifications from your phone directly on the device. In addition, Garmin ensures that the screen is visible in any situation, even under a blinding light. The fitness tracker keeps track of the steps taken, the distance covered during the day and the calories burned. All this data is also shown on the display. In addition, the fitness tracker allows you to monitor your sleep and set a daily goal to achieve. The bracelet makes the Vivofit 4 water resistant up to 5 ATM and the Move IQ technology automatically recognizes the activity performed by the user. By connecting the fitness tracker with your smartphone through Bluetooth, you can check through the Garmin Connect app all the data collected. The best feature of the fitness tracker is the autonomy: thanks to the presence of two SR43 button batteries, the device is discharged after 12 months. The batteries, however, are not rechargeable.
