The Google Play Music app will be replaced by YouTube Music and Google Podcasts by the end of 2020. Here's how to transfer your data from one app to another
Google Play Music is closing its doors: by the end of the year it will be removed from smartphones and replaced by YouTube Music and Google Podcasts. Although Google Play Music is one of the few apps with more than 5 billion downloads, in recent years its use had been waning, replaced by music streaming apps like Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Music Unlimited or Apple Music.
The golden years of Google Play Music were the early years of 2010: the app allowed you to upload all your MP3 tracks for free, with the ability to listen to them whenever you wanted. Come trasferire i file da Google Play Musica a YouTube Music
Per non perdere tutti i propri dati presenti su Google Play Musica, l’aziend adi Mountain View ha messo a disposizione degli utenti un semplice tool online che permette di migrare i file su YouTube Music, l’app che ne prenderà il posto.
Al momento il tool non è disponibile per tutti, ma solo per un ristretto numero di utenti, ma nel giro di qualche settimana potrà essere utilizzato da tutti. Per controllare se si è tra i fortunati, bisogna accedere a questo link e controllare cosa c’è scritto nella pagina che si apre. Google ha specificato che sarà possibile trasferire da Google Play Musica a YouTube Music le seguenti cose:
- I brani che hai caricato e acquistato.
- Le playlist e diverse stazioni.
- Gli album e i brani nella tua raccolta.
- I tuoi Mi piace e Non mi piace, ovvero i brani per i quali hai selezionato il pollice su o giù.
- I dati di fatturazione per il tuo abbonamento, se attualmente disponi di un abbonamento a Google Play Musica. Verrà convertito il tuo abbonamento a Google Play Musica al livello equivalente di YouTube Music Premium o YouTube Premium.
Come trasferire i podcast da Google Play Musica a Google Podcast
Per quanto riguarda i podcast presenti su Google Play Musica, Big G ha messo a disposizione un secondo tool per trasferire i contenuti su Google Podcast. Il funzionamento è identico al precedente: bisogna accedere al tool online e seguire tutte le indicazioni a schermo: nel giro di qualche minuto il trasferimento sarà completato.
