Honor Tab V7 Pro will be the first tablet with the new chip from MediaTek

Not only Magic 3 in Honor's near future, according to the latest rumors: to be in smell of officialization there would also be a high-end tablet

It was not easy for Honor the post-sanctions period that the U.S. applied against some Chinese companies, including the Huawei group. That period, however, is behind us thanks to the fact that Honor, for a few months now, is no longer owned by Huawei, so the company is back to producing gadgets with American components and software.

Since Honor changed ownership, a series of products have been made official, but the one that will symbolize the return to the glories of the past has not yet arrived: it will be Honor Magic 3, and it will be presented very soon, on August 12. Many, however, think that the Chinese top of the line will not be the only product to become official during the event, and the most recent rumors go in this direction. The company could also unveil the Honor X20 and the Honor Tab V7 Pro tablet, which could be the first product to host MediaTek's latest chip, the Kompanio 1300T.

Honor Tab V7 Pro will be a high-end tablet

Honor Tab V7 Pro in the last few hours has been at the center of a full-bodied leak that would potentially unveil all or almost all of its spec sheet. According to rumors, the Honor tablet will have an 11-inch IPS display with a very high resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, so with a visual fluidity greater than most tablets on the market today.

The resolution of the display and especially its refresh rate are enough, alone, to let you guess the caliber of Honor Tab V7 Pro, which would be a high-end tablet. The confirmation of the market positioning of the Chinese product that will probably be official in a few hours, comes looking at the chipset and RAM and ROM.

The chip, as anticipated above, will be the latest Kompanio 1300T of MediaTek, eight-core chip made at 6 nanometers (so high performance and relatively low consumption). It is in fact a variant of the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip (used, among others, by the recent OnePlus Nord 2) optimized for use on chromebooks and high-performance tablets. It consists of four high-performance Cortex-A78 cores and as many Cortex-A55 cores devoted more to energy efficiency. The GPU is a Mali-G77 MC9.

More than enough memories, prices unknown

About the memories, according to rumors the Honor Tab V7 Pro tablet should be offered with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 64, 128 or 256 GB of storage. There will be two cameras on the back, one 13-megapixel and another 2 MP, while supporting operations will be a 7,250 mAh battery with 22.5-watt fast charging. On the connectivity front there will be dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, a USB-C input, probably one for the 3.5mm audio jack and also the ability to hook up the 4G LTE signal. The Android-based Magic UI 5.0 interface with Google services and apps should complete the picture.

Expected dimensions of 525.1 × 163.6 × 7.2 mm, weight of 485 grams. It remains to be seen if Honor should really make Tab V7 Pro official along with Magic 3 and especially at what prices.
