EMUI 10 is being released for Huawei smartphones launched in 2019, but already the first problems are being reported. Here's everything you need to know
EMUI 10 is now a reality. The new user interface for Huawei smartphones is officially available for a good number of devices. After a few months of beta testing, the Chinese giant has decided to officially release it for all users. Huawei has invested a lot in the development of EMUI 10, considered a real step forward compared to the past.
The smartphones of the Chinese giant in the past had received more than one criticism for the user interface, considered not at the same level as that of competitors. With EMUI 10, much of the gap has been made up, thanks to a new set of icons much more similar to the Android style and a new architecture that allows the smartphone to be faster and snappier. Many are the innovations introduced by EMUI 10, but as it happens in these cases not everything went well. Some users have begun to report compatibility problems with some apps or annoying malfunctions with video games. Huawei's engineers are already developing a new version that will fix these problems.
EmuI 10
EmuI 10 has brought many new features to Huawei smartphones. The new graphical aspect is certainly the one that immediately jumps out at you, but there are also important changes at the architecture level that make the smartphone more stable and faster.
With EMUI 10, a new set of icons and transition animations when opening apps have been introduced. GPU Turbo makes Huawei devices faster, especially when opening apps. In addition, the dark theme has been introduced natively: Huawei has chosen a dark blue that tires the eyes less and makes it easier to read texts.
The EMUI 10 problems
There are not a few EMUI 10 problems encountered in these first weeks of use by users. Nothing that's impossible to fix, but for the moment it's creating a bit of a nuisance for users.
From the reports submitted by users, it seems that the new UI has compatibility issues with some banking and instant messaging apps. So far the only complaints have come from PUBG (PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds) fans: if you turn on HDR on the screen, flickering may occur. For the 30x camera zoom the pinch to zoom doesn't always work perfectly. As mentioned, these problems are already known to Huawei developers who are working to solve them.
EMUI 10, the supported smartphones
The list of Huawei smartphones that will receive EMUI 10 is quite long: in total there will be about sixty devices from the Chinese company that will be updated. The release will not happen for all smartphones at the same time, but will be staggered between now and mid-2020. The goal of the Chinese company is to bring the EMUI 10 even on the mid-range devices to show users that the problems with Google caused by Donald Trump's trade blockade do not scratch the Chinese giant.
The EMUI 10 has already arrived on the top of the range devices released in the last 12 months: Huawei P30 Pro, Huawei P30, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20. By the end of the year it is expected to be released for another half a dozen smartphones and then continue in 2020.
