Huawei has announced the release of EMUI 11 in the third quarter of 2020. Here's the list of smartphones for which the update will be available
Eight years after the birth of EMUI, Huawei's mobile operating system, the company is preparing to release a new version in the third quarter of 2020. EMUI 11, itself based on Android 11, will offer improvements to both application performance and user experience.
Confirming the arrival of EMUI 11 is Wang Chenglu, the president of Huawei Consumer Business Software. Among the most interesting novelties, there are the features dedicated to the smart home, but the company also ensures improvements both on the privacy side and in the area of user security. A real revolution for Huawei's operating system, which in a few years has seen the evolution of its performance improve version after version up to the most recent EMUI 10. The new operating system could already be pre-installed in the upcoming devices of the Huawei P40 and Mate 40 series.
When EMUI 11 arrives
Huawei has announced that soon the new EMUI 11 mobile operating system will be released in the third quarter of 2020, so it could be available as early as September, but the exact date has not been confirmed. If the Chinese company's strategy remains the same, the release date could be unveiled during the Huawei Developer Conference 2020 to be held next August, as had been done for EMUI 10 in 2019. According to reports, the beta testing of the new mobile operating system will be performed on the Huawei P40 models and the upcoming Huawei Mate 40, coming between September and October 2020.
EMUI 11, new features coming
The rumors circulating about the new features of EMUI 11 at the moment are very few. What we can expect is a small change in the graphical interface, as already started with the operations of "aging" for EMUI 10. The developers of Huawei then certainly point to an improvement in performance and stability of the software, while among the new features Wang refers to both systems for smart home, or smart homes, and more security in terms of privacy for users.
