Android Smart Lock: Trusted Device

Android's Smart Lock feature allows you to customize your device to automatically unlock itself in certain situations. Once you have enabled the corresponding feature on your smartphone, you can add trusted locations and devices. Then, your device will automatically unlock itself in those situations.

How to add a trusted device to the smart lock

If you don't always want to unlock your device using a PIN or pattern in certain situations, you can use Android's smart lock feature. This allows you to automatically unlock your device at home or in other situations, for example. However, it is necessary to add a trusted device beforehand for this. Afterwards, your smartphone is unlocked as long as you have paired it with the previously saved device via a Bluetooth connection.

1. To do this, go to Settings and then click on "Security".
2. Then select the "Smart Lock" option.
3. Tippen Sie nun auf den Eintrag „Vertrauenswürdiges Gerät“.
4. Klicken Sie ganz unten auf die Schaltfläche „Vertrauenswürdiges Gerät hinzufügen“.
5. Aktivieren Sie, falls nicht bereits geschehen, Ihre Bluetooth-Verbindung.
6. Nun sehen Sie eine Liste aller Bluetooth-Geräte in der Nähe. Wählen Sie das Gerät aus, dem Sie vertrauen.
7. Bestätigen Sie die Auswahl über „Ja, hinzufügen“. Anschließend wird Ihnen die Liste aller vertrauenswürdiger Geräte angezeigt, die Sie bis jetzt hinzugefügt haben.
8. Wird die Bluetooth-Verbindung getrennt, wird das Smartphone automatisch gesperrt.
