eBay Classifieds: Mark ads as reserved

If you offer something for sale on eBay Classifieds and have reached an agreement with a buyer, you don't have to take the ad offline right away. Instead, you can mark the item as reserved until the purchase is complete.

How to mark your ad as reserved

If you want to mark one of your ads on eBay Classifieds as reserved, it will only work with a trick. This is because eBay doesn't offer a corresponding status function in the settings that you can use to mark your ads. Follow these steps to mark an ad as reserved for other users:
  1. Go to the eBay Classifieds website in your browser and log in with your user data.
  2. Click on "My" in the upper right corner and then on "Ads" to access an overview of your active ads.
  3. Find the ad you want to mark as reserved in the overview and click on the option "Edit".
  4. Now enter the addition "Reserved" in the input field "Title" to mark the ad.
  5. Finally click on "Save ad" so that the changes are applied.
The adjusted title is applied immediately. For users who henceforth come across your ad, it is now apparent that the item is reserved. If you have an image editing program, you can in addition to the title also the images with a reserved sign. If the purchase does not materialize, do not forget to remove the reservation again.
