How to use your EasyBox 803 as a repeater

In principle, you have the possibility to use your EasyBox 803 as a repeater to increase the range of your WLAN. It doesn't matter whether the EasyBox 803 acts as a repeater for a router of the same model or is used with older or newer devices.

In order to use your EasyBox as a repeater, you need two routers, as one acts as a base router and the other as a repeater. Both boxes must also be assigned the same radio channel.

Set up EasyBox 803 as a repeater step by step

Follow these steps first with the base router and then with the EasyBox 803 as a repeater:
  1. First connect your base router to your computer via a suitable cable.
  2. Open the user interface of Vodafone in your browser and log in.
  3. Under "Data" and "Wireless" you need to check "Enable WDS functions" and accept the setting.
  4. Under the menu item "Encryption" you must now uncheck "Enable WPS". The encryption method should be "WPA2 only" and the authentication should be selected with "PSK".
Repeat these steps with the Easybox. Make sure that both routers are named differently, but have the same network key. You can change the name under "WLAN" à "SSID". After the last step, you have to enter a free IP address for the repeater under "LAN-IP". This must be higher than the one of the base router. Then apply all changes and check by logging in again with both devices one after the other whether they are now displayed under "Data > Wireless > WDS".
