To make the home screen of your Android Q device more organized, you can create one or more folders to store your installed apps. Depending on which brand your smartphone or tablet is from, there are several methods you can choose from to do this.

Android Q: How to create a folder for your apps

If many apps have accumulated on the home screen of your Android Q smartphone or tablet, it can be useful to store them in folders for a better overview. Creating a new folder is possible directly on the home screen.
  1. To create a new folder, first select an app that you want to move into the folder and press and hold it.
  2. Then drag the pressed app to a second app and release it again to create a new folder and place both apps in it.
  3. If you would like to give the newly created folder a name, please tap it and select "Untitled Folder" to enter a new name.
  4. To add more apps to the folder, simply drag them from the home screen or app tray onto the folder.

Other methods to create a folder on Android Q

Depending on which manufacturer your Android Q device comes from, there is an alternative approach to folder creation besides the method described above. With this one, you need to press on a free space on your home screen until the "Add" hint appears. Then tap on it and go to "New Folder" to create a new folder on the device.
