Samsung: Safe Folder - what's behind it

On Samsung smartphones, the "Safe Folder" function is available to you. Especially on newer models, the folder is already pre-installed. This is a separate and local storage location on the device. In this you can store files from your phone protected.

This is the "Safe Folder" on your Samsung device

With the "Safe Folder" feature on your Samsung, you have the ability to store files from your device securely and locally. This allows you to store apps and data in a password-protected folder. You cannot transfer this data via unauthorized sharing methods, such as via USB connection. If any unofficial adjustments are made to your software, then the "Safe Folder" feature will be automatically locked and the data will no longer be accessible. To use the function, you must first set it up.
  1. Go to the "Settings" of your smartphone and select the option "Biometric data and security".
  2. Click here on "Secure folder".
  3. Tap on "Accept" to confirm the T&Cs.
  4. Now you need to enter your ID and the corresponding password from your Samsung account. Confirm the entry via "OK".
  5. In the next step, you have the option to select a locking method.
  6. Follow the further instructions to complete the setup.
  7. The folder is now created. In addition, a shortcut will appear in the menu.
