If old backups are blocking the storage space in your iCloud, you can delete them without any problems. Follow these steps to remove the backups from the cloud directly from your iPhone:

1. Go to the "Settings" app on your iPhone X.
2. Tap your name in the menu, then tap "iCloud".
3. Select "Manage Storage" there and tap "Backups".
