Deleting an Uber account - how to proceed

Uber is a service company from the USA that offers passenger transportation services. This is done online, although in Germany rides are so far only possible via licensed car rental companies and therefore cannot yet be used in too many cities.

How to delete your account with Uber

To delete your account with Uber, you have the option of doing so either via the app or your PC. In doing so, it is important to consider one or the other important aspect.

1. Before deleting, it is important that you have a valid cell phone number on file, as you will receive a verification code to confirm your identity. This must be entered for the further process.
2. If you want to delete Uber via your computer, call the website of "Uber" and then navigate to the help center. There, go to the category "Account and payment options", where you scroll to the item "Delete my Uber account". There you click on the phrase "Delete my Uber account" and then follow the instructions on the screen.
3. If, on the other hand, you want to delete your Uber account via the app, then open it first. Now tap the icon for "Menu" in the top left corner and then select "Settings". After that, switch to the "Privacy settings". Klicken Sie nun auf „Konto löschen“ und folgen Sie daraufhin den Anweisungen, die den Prozess vervollständigen.
4. Danach wird Ihr Konto sofort deaktiviert, wobei es nach 30 Tagen endgültig gelöscht wird und anschließend nicht mehr wiederhergestellt werden kann. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt verfallen alle Prämien, Guthaben oder sonstige Aktionen.
