If you want to call someone but don't want them to see your number, you can have it suppressed. This is possible on any smartphone, including the Xiaomi MI 9. However, there are several methods to enable number suppression.

The operating system running on the Xiaomi MI 9 is an Android version. On Android phones, number suppression can be turned on through the settings.

1. Open the settings on the smartphone by going to the app provided for it. You can recognize this by the gear icon.
2. Here you now select the item "Call settings" or "More settings".
3. Go to "Show own number" and take here the option "Hide own number".
4. You can also reach this option via the phone icon by tapping on the three small dots at the top and then on "More settings".
5. If you want to suppress the phone number only once, simply put the digit sequence #31# in front of the number you want to call.
6. If you only want to call a certain contact always anonymously, then save its number best with the digit sequence. So only this contact is called anonymously.
