Google Maps: Share map - how it works

With Google Maps, you have the option to plan routes before you travel. If you want to share them with other people afterwards, Google offers you a suitable function for this as well. If you want to send a map section to other people, all you have to do is create a link.

With Google Maps, you can share your map view with the click of a button.

Google Maps: Map sharing possible with a few clicks

To share a map, first go to the Google Maps app via your mobile device or to the website via a browser of your choice.

1. Using the browser, enter a route and select the appropriate route on the left side. In the app, tap on the name or address of the place at the bottom for this.
2. Now zoom in or out as far as possible in the map section.
3. Independent of the platform, now click on the "Share" icon. If the icon is not visible, select the three-dot menu before.
4. It now opens a small window. In the tab "Send link" you have the option to copy a link via "Copy link" and then paste it into another application. So ist es möglich, ihn beispielsweise per E-Mail oder eine Messenger-App an andere Personen zu schicken.
5. Über den Tab „Karten einbetten“ können Sie den HTML-Tag für den Kartenausschnitt kopieren, um diesen in Ihre eigene Webseite einzubetten.
