Valheim: What are rubies useful for? We explain

Among the many items you pick up in Valheim, some don't seem to be needed for crafting recipes. This is also true for rubies, and we explain what the gems are good for.

Be sure to pick them up: Rubies are a valuable exchange currency.

When you first find rubies, the red item icon in your inventory will immediately catch your eye. There is a reason for this, because rubies are quite valuable.

Valheim: That's why you should always collect rubies

Rubies are one of the exchange currencies that you can exchange for coins at the merchant Haldor:

• Per ruby you receive 20 coins. They thus fulfill the same function as the ambers, but are even more valuable.
• Since you often find rubies several times, for example in dungeons, comes in this way relatively quickly a decent value together.
• This becomes even more obvious when looking at the prices at Haldor. Especially for the expensive items like the Megingiard belt you have to save a while; by redeeming rubies, it goes a good bit faster.

Since rubies are not always directly apparent, especially in the dark burial chambers, keep a conscious lookout for them.
