What is UberX? We explain the name and the concept

The name Uber is now also very well known in Germany. But what exactly is UberX? Many users ask themselves this question at the latest when they open the app for the first time. We explain what's behind it.

Uber is considered a modern and often cheaper alternative to cabs. In fact, mostly UberX is meant when it comes to normal rides.

UberX can be explained as follows:

• UberX is the "normal" offer of Uber: you order a driver via app, the fare is defined meanwhile and the payment is handled via app. You pay the booking completely alone at the normal price, quite regular as in the cab, since you are the only customer.
• The addition of "X" is thus simply an arbitrary naming to mark this offer in areas where there are other Uber variants, for example, UberPool or Uber Black.

Consequently, UberX is the most frequently booked variant and corresponds to the basic concept of the provider. The "X", which sometimes causes confusion, is thus no longer a mystery, but stands for the standard with which most trips are made.
