Telecom: Find access number - how to set up the router

If you have a contract with the network operator Telekom, you need an access number to connect your router to the Internet. Conversely, this means: no access number - no Internet. But this is no reason to panic. The access number is quite easy to find.

What does the access number look like and where can it be found?

In order to log into the Internet with the router via Telekom, you need a number of access data. These include the twelve-digit connection identifier, the twelve-digit access number and your personal password. You can find these out in the following ways:
  1. When you started your contract, you received a letter from Telekom in which all the access data is noted. On every other important letter, for example, to change the contract, your access number is always noted.
  2. If you have misplaced the first letter from Telekom, you can also find the access number in the customer center. Log in here with your e-mail address and the corresponding password. Under "Manage connection" you will find your access number.
  3. As a last option, you can also read out the access number in the router menu. Log in there for this purpose. Depending on the router model, the menu in which you find the access number is named differently - but usually you will find the keyword "Internet" in the name.

How do you request new access data?

If none of the above options helps you, you can request new access data from Telekom. This can be done either in the customer center, via an online contact form or by phone.
