Pop-ups are browser windows that open unwanted when you visit a website. Using the settings of your browser or with the help of an external plugin, you have the possibility to prevent the annoying pop-ups.
With these settings you can block pop-ups in Firefox
Browsers like Chrome and Firefox come with a built-in pop-up blocker that you can enable through the browser settings. Follow these steps to block pop-ups in Firefox:- Open the browser and click the menu button in the top right corner.
- Go to the settings and go to the "Privacy & Security" category.
- Scroll down until you find the "Permissions" category. There you will find the option "Block pop-up windows". Activate the checkbox to turn on the pop-up blocker.
- The "Exceptions..." button also gives you the option to add an exception for certain websites.
How to block pop-ups in Chrome
As in Firefox, you can also activate the pop-up blocker in Chrome via the browser settings. Follow these steps to do so:- Start Chrome and access the settings.
- Switch to the "Privacy and Security" category and click on "Website Settings" in the overview.
- Scroll down and click on the "Pop-ups and redirects" option.
