Microsoft Teams: Show chat - how to do it

In addition to video telephony, many users use Microsoft Teams to chat. The chat function allows you to exchange and share files with other people for a short time. Although the chats cannot be deleted, both showing and hiding a chat window is easily possible.

How to unhide a chat on Microsoft Teams

Instead of deleting an unimportant Teams chat, you can hide it from the chat list by clicking "Hide" in the "Chat" section under the other options. To show this chat again afterwards, proceed as follows:

1. In the search window, enter a term that is contained in the chat (for example, the name of the chat partner).
2. Select the chat you want to show and click on the "three-dot menu" on the right side of the chat.
3. There, select "Show" to show the chat again completely in the entire chat list.

Alternatively, you can simply mute a chat in Microsoft Teams. In this case, the chat is still visible in the list, but you will no longer receive a notification when a new chat message is sent.
