Windows 10 microphone too quiet - what you can do

The Windows 10 operating system has numerous tools that allow you to create sound and video recordings. However, other applications, such as Skype or Teamspeak, also require a microphone. However, if this is too quiet, then in most cases this is due to the settings.

This is what you can do if your microphone is too quiet in Windows 10

To set the microphone louder in Windows 10, you first need to open the settings. To do this, go to the Windows icon at the bottom left of Windows and click on the gear icon there.
  1. After you have opened the settings, go on to "System".
  2. In the menu that now appears on the left side, you can select the sub-item "Sound". In the overview on the right side you can see the output and input settings.
  3. Click on "Sound Control Panel" on the far right under "Related Settings".
  4. A window will open where you can make all the settings concerning the sound.
  5. Go to the "Recording" tab and highlight the microphone you are using. Click "Properties" at the bottom right.
  6. In the properties window, under "Level", you will find two setting options that make the microphone more sensitive. The upper "Microphone" setting adjusts the microphone sensitivity.
