When playing Pokémon against other players and their Pokémon, the attacks your Pokémon is capable of are of great importance. You can learn about the different types of attacks available in the editions and how your Pokémon learns them in this article.

These attacks exist in the Pokémon games

The attacks that a Pokémon can learn are particularly important in all Pokémon games. If you as a trainer with your Pokémon in battle against another Pokémon, you can use the various attacks to damage your opponent or trigger special effects.
  1. In the seven Pokémon generations so far, there are a total of 742 different attacks that can be divided into different damage classes.
  2. In addition to physical and special attacks that have the goal of hurting the opponent, there are still status attacks that lead to status changes.
  3. Which attacks a Pokémon can use also depends on which of the 18 different Pokémon types it belongs to.

This is how your Pokémon can learn and unlearn attacks

Even though there are now more than 700 different attacks in the Pokémon games, a Pokémon can only ever master a maximum of four attacks at a time. If a Pokémon already has four attacks, it must unlearn one of them before it can learn a new attack. To unlearn the attack, you need to go to the Attack Unlearner, which you can find in the Pokémon Center of Hauholi City. If you want your Pokémon to remember a forgotten attack at a later time, the Attack Reminder will help you. Just go to the Pokémon Center of Mount Lanakila and look for a woman in a green dress.
