Microsoft Teams: clear cache - here's how

With Microsoft Teams, you can talk to each other inside and outside your company, allowing you to work together on projects. While doing so, you can also chat, make phone calls, as well as use numerous other features available to you in Teams.

How to clear the cache in Microsoft Teams

If you suddenly can't access certain functions or channels in Microsoft Teams anymore or you notice that chats or channels are empty all of a sudden, this may be due to the cache. Therefore, it is recommended to empty it every now and then to counteract this problem.
  1. To do this, the first thing you need to do is close Microsoft Teams completely. If this does not work, close the application via Task Manager.
  2. Now navigate to File Explorer and enter "appdata%\Microsoft\Teams".
  3. Then go to the folder "Application Cache -Cache". There you delete all located files.
  4. If there are also files under the folder "Blob_storage", then also delete them completely.
  5. After that, open the folder "Cache" and remove all files there, too.
  6. Delete all files in the folders "databases" and "GPUcache", too.
  7. Im Anschluss löschen Sie in „IndexedD“ die „db-Datei“.
