Reddit: What is a crosspost? We explain

When creating a post on Reddit, there are several options, not all of which are familiar to every user. We explain what a crosspost is and when it makes sense.

Crossposting: crossposts distribute content into multiple matching subreddits.

For new users, Reddit sometimes looks a bit confusing. However, upon closer inspection, the features are relatively logical and understandable.

Reddit: Posting to another subreddit via crosspost

Crossposts are not a complicated matter:

• A crosspost is the reposting of an existing post, but in a different subreddit.
• This is useful if the post fits several topic subreddits at the same time.
• Example: a particularly nice goal from a soccer match is posted as a video post in r/sports. A user can then post this post via crosspost also in r/soccer, because the video there is also suitable.
• A limit does not exist in principle. So the post from the above example can also be published in r/bundesliga or other subreddits by crosspost.

To note in each case the rules of the subreddit, because it sometimes happens that subreddits are not allowed or must meet certain criteria.
