How to create a test meeting in Microsoft Teams

To participate in a video conference, you need a webcam and a microphone. Since various components work together to fully function, it is advantageous to conduct a test meeting in Microsoft Teams before a "real" meeting. In this way, you can check whether the microphone, webcam and the other options are functioning adequately. This also gives you the opportunity to test whether your Internet connection is fast enough to ensure trouble-free transmission. For this purpose, the Microsoft Team application offers you the option of a test call.

1. First, go to the settings. You can get there by clicking on your profile picture.
2. Thereupon you will see the menu on the left side, which is divided into different areas.
3. Select "Devices" here.
4. Thereupon you will get an overview of the devices that are connected and activated for this purpose. Hier können Sie vorab schon einmal überprüfen, ob es sich um die korrekte Webcam und das richtige Mikrofon handelt.
5. Um den Ton zu testen, klicken Sie auf „Testanruf führen“.
6. Sprechen Sie nun eine Nachricht auf und spielen Sie diese ab.
7. Dabei werden zugleich alle Funktionen, auch die Webcam, überprüft.
