Startpage as home page in Firefox: how to set it up

Startpage uses Google search, but protects your information from the data octopus. If you want to use the search engine as your start page, here's how to set it up in Firefox.

With Startpage, you start every Firefox session with a secure search.

Firefox is installed as the default browser on millions of computers. Reason enough to point out a secure search engine.

Set up Startpage.com as the start page in Firefox: How it works

Proceed as follows:
  1. First call Startpage in a Firefox tab.
  2. Then drag the tab with the mouse pointer to the house icon in the Firefox toolbar. This stands for "Home" or the start page.
  3. There follows a prompt asking if you want to set Startpage as the start page. Confirm with "Yes".
Alternatively, you can also open the Firefox settings and enter the Startpage URL under "Home". The result is the same either way, namely Startpage as the home page in Firefox.
