Delete formatting - here's how to do it

If you want to undo the formatting of your hard disk and recover your data, the best way to do it is to do it right after formatting.

This is how you delete a previous format

If, after formatting your hard disk, you have not yet written to it again or saved anything on it, then you will succeed best in restoring it. Otherwise, erasing the formatting will be problematic and there is a possibility that not all your data can be recovered. However, undoing a formatting is always associated with luck, because although the data is basically present, but your computer has "forgotten" where he stored them.
  1. First connect your hard drive to the PC, whereby this must have a working operating system.
  2. Download and install a program that is tailored to such problems. For this, there are partly also free tools such as "Recuva" or "Easeus Data Recovery Wizard", which are quite sufficient for this.
  3. Install the selected program according to the instructions.
  4. After that, select that the program should search your formatted hard drive for data. This may take hours, but also days, depending on the capacity of your hard drive. In addition, you should connect a disk on which your recovered data can be safely stored.
  5. If the process is complete, you must now sort your data by hand. Files from the Recycle Bin will also be recovered, so this process may also take some time.
  6. If not all your data has been recovered, then it may be files that can not be overwritten, which can only be brought back to light with paid tools or an expert.
