Paste without formatting - how to do it

When you copy and paste a text using keyboard shortcuts in Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Office or similar programs, the format of the copied content is also copied. You can learn how to easily paste a text without formatting here.

Paste a text without formatting

Although the keyboard shortcut takes the format of a text by default, there is also a way around this. Proceed as follows:
  1. To copy a text, use the combination "Ctrl + c".
  2. Now switch to the interface in which you want to paste the text and use the key combination "Ctrl + Shift + V".
  3. Depending on the application, a window with different selection options now appears. To paste the text unformatted, select the option "unformatted text" and confirm this with a click on "OK".

Paste text without formatting in Microsoft Office

In Office programs such as Microsoft Word, you can also copy and paste a text without formatting by right-clicking on your mouse. To do this, select a text and copy it using the "Copy" command by right-clicking your mouse. Now paste the copied text anywhere you want by pressing the right mouse button again and selecting only the unformatted text in the paste options.
