Delete IMS Framework - does it make sense?

If you own a smartphone that uses Android as its operating system, you have already made acquaintance with IMS Framework. But you should know what exactly it is before you take action and remove it permanently.

What you should know about the IMS Framework

The IMS Framework refers to a framework or programming framework that often appears in connection with the Telekom app Joyn. Many Android smartphones that you purchase with a telecom contract already have the Joyn app installed, even if you don't notice it at first glance. This is because the goal is to establish Joyn as a new mobile messaging app.

Remove the software

If you have no interest in using the new messaging service, you should remove the framework IMS to save memory and conserve battery life.
  1. Open the settings of your Android smartphone and click on the "Connections" tab.
  2. In the menu that appears, click on the option "More settings" and then click on "Rich Communications".
  3. Now uncheck this option and then restart your Android smartphone.
  4. Should not have succeeded in stopping the IMS Framework, open the settings again and then the "Apps" section.
  5. Remove the updates of the system app here. To do this, you need to click on "IMS Framework" and then on the option "Uninstall updates".
  6. Restart your Android smartphone to complete this process.
