Disable iPhone - these options are available

Normally, your iPhone is protected from access by others via the lock code. However, this only helps for a limited time. Therefore, if the iPhone is stolen or you have lost it, it is important to disable the device as soon as possible. To do this, however, you need to make settings beforehand.

How to deactivate your iPhone

If you have lost your iPhone or it has been stolen, the aim is to deactivate it as quickly as possible. To do this, you have several options to choose from, depending on whether or not you have previously enabled the "Find my device" option.

1. If you have enabled "Find my device", then log in to the search function website with your Apple ID. Alternatively, you can also use the "Where is?" app.
2. Then select "iPhone Search" to find out the location of your device. This way you can find it again if needed. Here you can also mark the iPhone as "Lost". It is also possible to display a message with a phone number on the iPhone screen. By marking it, no more payment methods can be used through your smartphone. Moreover, you can select "Erase device". This will prevent anyone from accessing the data.
3. If the option is not enabled on the iPhone, then change the password via the Apple website. Also change all passwords of services that were also used on your smartphone.

The loss or theft should be reported to the police, have the serial number handy for this. This can be found on the original packaging of the device. You should also inform the mobile operator about the loss.
