Valheim: How to get amber - and how to use it

You will regularly find amber or even amber pearls on your wanderings through the dungeons of Valheim. We explain what you need the items for and what their actual purpose is.

Haldor thanks: you can exchange amber and the pearls for coins.

Because in the crafting recipes you will look for the two ingredients in vain. This is because they are, so to speak, intended as currency.

Valheim: Amber is a barter currency

This becomes useful when you have found the merchant Haldor (tips here).
  • At Haldor you can buy valuable items such as the belt for a larger inventory.
  • As payment, Haldor accepts only coins.
  • If you have amber or amber beads, you can sell them to Haldor and receive coins for them.
  • One amber is worth 5 coins, one amber bead twice as much.
  • There are no other uses for them - so you don't need to keep amber for safety.
Amber and amber beads are thus exclusively there to increase your coin account so you can store at Haldor. The same goes for the even more valuable rubies, by the way: these earn you 20 coins per unit, while the silver necklace earns you 30 coins.
