Creating a PDF Link: Here's how easy it is

A link is a convenient way to make content accessible to the reader of the PDF. You can link files, web pages, and content from the PDF. You can choose where the link is active, how it is displayed, and how to open the linked content.

Insert a link in your PDF

Using the Adobe Acrobat Reader program, you can quickly and easily insert a link into your PDF. You can link web pages, sections of the document, or files. In the settings for the link you will find numerous setting options for the appearance of the link. This is set with a rectangle and can be positioned freely on the document. You are not bound to text blocks or other content.

Insert links into a PDF document

  1. Click on "Tools".
  2. Select "Edit PDF".
  3. Click on "Link" and then on "Add or edit".
  4. The cursor now becomes a crosshair.
  5. Draw a rectangle with the crosshair. The entire area within the rectangle is active afterwards.
  6. Under "Create link" you can select which appearance the link should have.
  7. Then select in the same dialog box what the link refers to: A page in the document, an external URL or a file.
  8. Entscheiden Sie, ob der Link in einem neuen Fenster geöffnet wird oder im vorhandenen Fenster.
  9. Wählen Sie „OK“, um den Link hinzuzufügen.
