Google Stadia: Return games - how it works

Refunds are a special issue with digital purchases. Since you can only buy games for Google Stadia digitally, the question of return options is even more important.

The games range at Stadia is growing and already includes some real hits, for example Football Manager 2021 and Cyberpunk 2077. Still, you may not be satisfied with a purchase.

Google Stadia: How to return games

The return policy for Stadia games is as follows:

• You can request a refund for games within the first 14 days of purchase.
• The prerequisite, however, is that you have played the game for less than two hours.
• If you have shared the game via family sharing, this time limit applies to all accounts added together.

This regulation will sound familiar to many PC gamers, as Steam handles returns in exactly the same way. It is thus also possible at Stadia to test games briefly before deciding whether you want to keep them. The return process works like this in the browser:

1. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of stadia.com and open the "Stadia Settings".
2. Select "Purchases and Subscriptions" on the left and then the game you want to return.
3. Mit „Erstattung beantragen“ reichen Sie das Spiel ein.
