Slack: Create a Poll - how to start a poll

If you want to vote on different suggestions with your colleagues or friends, this is possible in Slack using a poll. To vote, simply create a new Poll that contains your question and the different answer options.

Create a simple poll in Slack

If you use Slack to communicate with your friends or colleagues, the tool also offers you a feature to create polls. To create a new poll, simply enter the command /poll "question" "answer1" "answer2" "answer3" in the respective chat. Replace the placeholders with the question you want to vote on and the different suggestions that are available. As soon as you send the command, your poll will appear in the chat and your chat partners can vote for an option.

Slack: Other methods to create a poll

If the creation of the poll by command does not work, you can also search for a suitable poll app in the app directory of Slack.

1. To do this, open the page "https://my.slack.com/apps“ und suchen Sie durch Eingabe des Begriffs „Poll“ nach einer passenden Anwendung.
2. Fügen Sie die App anschließend Ihrem Workspace hinzu, indem Sie auf „Zu Slack hinzufügen“ klicken und der App die benötigten Berechtigungen erteilen.
3. Ohne die Installation einer speziellen Umfrage-App können Sie auch Emojis für die Durchführung einer Befragung nutzen.
4. Geben Sie hierfür eine Frage ein und weisen Sie jeder Antwortmöglichkeit einen Emoji zu.
