Disney+: All info on the 2021 price increase - how much will it cost?

Both subscribers and prospective subscribers were in for some bad news in February 2021. Namely, Disney+ announced a price increase for the streaming service. Read how much more expensive it will be.

More expensive - and more diverse: subscribers to Disney+ will have to pay more in the future.

The launch of Disney+ meant a new competitor for Netflix and Amazon. After the initial growth phase, an adjustment of prices now follows.

Disney+: This is how it looks after the price increase in 2021

Here are the facts and figures at a glance:

• For an overview: since the launch, Disney+ has cost 6.99 euros per month or 69.99 euros per year.
• The new price is 8.99 euros per month or 89.90 euros for the whole year.
• The price increase is thus almost 30 percent. This is justified by the expansion of the offer by the addition of Star.

A deferral is available for subscribers who had booked Disney+ at the time directly to the launch. Those who completed the annual subscription in August 2020 so that the renewal takes place before August 23, 2021, still get another year at the previous price.
