To set up call forwarding on your iPhone, you need another phone to forward incoming calls to. Get an overview of how to proceed with the setup and also read how to disable call forwarding again.

How to set up call forwarding on iPhone

If you don't currently want to receive incoming calls on your iPhone, you can set up call forwarding for the device so that calls are forwarded to another smartphone or landline phone. This can be done in a few steps via the Settings app of the iPhone.
  1. To start setting up call forwarding, please tap the "gear icon" in the app overview of your iPhone to open the iPhone settings.
  2. Navigate in the settings to "Phone" > "Call Forwarding" and move the switch located there to the right to activate the call forwarding.
  3. For the call forwarding to work, you will now be prompted to enter a phone number to which all calls will be forwarded. Please type it in and confirm your entry by tapping "Call Forwarding".
  4. The call forwarding is now activated and a small phone icon appears at the top of the iPhone screen.

iPhone: How to deactivate the set up call forwarding

Once you have activated the call forwarding, all calls you receive will be forwarded to another device until you deactivate the call forwarding again. To do this, simply tap on the "Phone icon" that appears, select the number and delete it again. Alternatively, you can also navigate to "Settings" > "Phone" and move the switch next to "Call forwarding" so that it is grayed out.
