Real-time bank transfer at the Sparkasse: The costs?

Long bank transit times are still not uncommon today - and often enough a real nuisance. That's why the Sparkasse's real-time bank transfer was well received from the start. But what do the costs look like?

Modern banking: the real-time transfer is a popular feature.

According to Sparkasse, a real-time transfer (also called instant payment) is executed within seconds. This even applies outside bank opening hours, such as at night and on weekends. However, this service is not free of charge.

Real-time transfer: costs depend on the savings bank

The extent to which the costs of the real-time transfer depend on the respective savings bank is shown by these examples:
  • The Sparkasse München charges a flat rate of 50 cents - the account model does not play a role here.
  • At Sparkasse Berlin, it is 25 cents per real-time transfer.
  • At Sparkasse Köln-Bonn, the costs vary depending on the customer's account: Thus, each real-time transfer with the account "Giro Klassik" costs 60 cents, with "Giro Direkt" (and others), on the other hand, it is free.
  • The Frankfurter Sparkasse charges 49 cents per real-time transfer for all private accounts.
The situation is thus clear: Due to the differences, you should ask your savings bank about the applicable prices before making the transfer. Da so gut wie alle Sparkassen die Funktion anbieten, sind die Chancen sehr hoch, dass Sie fündig werden.
