As soon as you start composing a mail in Gmail, it is saved as a draft and stored continuously. If you end up not wanting to send the mail after all, you can simply delete the draft.

Drafts can be easily deleted:- In the web view, you will see the number of drafts in the menu on the left.
- Consequently, you need to click on "Drafts" to see all drafts.
- Hover the mouse pointer over the line of the draft you want to delete and click the trash can icon on the right.
