This is what you need to know about Apple Pay limits
When paying with Apple Pay, you are not bound to any maximum amount, at least not directly. For the transactions via Apple Pay apply namely the contract terms, the credit or debit card you have deposited. If a limit is set there, this also applies to payments with Apple Pay.- In some countries, the disposal limit for contactless payment is also restricted by the issuers of payment cards and merchants. If you exceed this, you will be prompted to enter the PIN, sign a receipt or may even have to switch to another payment method.
- For both Visa and Mastercard cards, you do not have to enter a PIN up to an amount of 50 euros. All transactions exceeding this limit require verification.
- If you use a Girocard, the limit at which you do not need a PIN is 25 euros. Due to the current pandemic-related situation, however, this has been temporarily increased to 50 euros.
