Networking is a complicated subject. Fortunately, controlling a network in Windows is comparatively easy and can be easily followed with a good tutorial. If you have problems setting up an Internet connection, it usually helps to let the network obtain its IP automatically.

When setting up a network, it sometimes helps to specify a direct IP. However, Windows often runs into problems by doing this, which is why it is better to obtain the IP automatically.

1. Use the key combination [Windows] + [S] to start the search and enter "Network and Sharing Center". Then confirm by [Enter] or select the entry with the mouse.
2. Now click on the network connection with which problems currently occur.
3. In the new window, select the "Properties" button. Note that this requires administrator rights.
4. In the new window, select the entry Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click again on "Properties".
5. Mark the radio button "Obtain IP address automatically" and save by "OK".

Darum ist die Funktion nicht geeignet

1. Die direkte Angabe einer IP-Adresse dient nur dazu, andere Geräte und Server im Netzwerk zu finden.
2. Um diese anzeigen zu können und eine Verbindung aufzubauen, gehören jedoch mehr Einstellungen als nur die IP-Adresse dazu.
3. Die Folge ist, dass weder Netzwerke noch Geräte gefunden werden und keine Verbindung möglich ist.
