Google search: specify and narrow down time period - here's how

One of the many settings you can use to refine your Google search is the exact time period. In fact, this is just a few clicks away and helps narrow down the results in terms of time.

The right time period can greatly simplify Google search.

Google search provides so many results on most topics that it is often necessary to narrow them down in terms of time. Thanks to the integrated function called "time period", this is not complicated.

This is how you set the time period in Google search

You can set the time period for your Google results as individually as possible:
  1. In the first step, you perform your search on google.com in the usual way.
  2. After the results appear, click on "Search filter". You will find the button directly under the search line, namely next to the settings.
  3. Click there on the drop-down menu "Any time".
  4. Now you can set the period for the search results: "Last hour", "Last 24 hours", "Last week", "Last month" and "Last year" are directly available as predefined options. Alternatively, you can enter an individual time period in "Set time period". In doing so, you enter the start and end date of the period.
Once you have decided on a period, the search is updated and adjusted. This function is very handy for many purposes, for example, if you want to get the most current result possible for a particular topic - in this case, "Last 24 hours" would be the right choice.
