iPhone X: Own ringtone - how it works

In order to use your own ringtone instead of a standard one, it is first necessary to create it with iTunes.
  1. To do this, start iTunes, right-click on a song to open the context menu and go to "Information" > "Options" in it.
  2. Set the start and stop time of the song in the options and confirm your selection with "OK".
  3. Click again with the right mouse button on the music file and select "Create MP3 Version" to save a copy of the song.
  4. Copy the music file to the desktop, change its extension to M4R format and import it back into iTunes using the tool "iRinger".

Own ringtone: How to set it up on iPhone X

Have you created your own ringtone, next please connect your iPhone X to the PC, go to "Library" > "Sounds" in iTunes and transfer the file to the iPhone by dragging it to the iPhone icon. To use the ringtone now, please open the Settings app on the device and tap "Sounds". Look for the "Ringtone" entry there and select your self-created tone from the list of available ringtones.
