iPhone X: Create ringtone - how it works

If you don't like the pre-installed ringtones on your iPhone X, you can also easily create your own tones. It doesn't matter if the original sound comes from a music track or if you use voice memos or even other sources.

iPhone X: Create ringtones - iTunes is required

To create your own ringtone for your iPhone X, you need iTunes. If you have never used the software before, follow the instructions below.

1. First start iTunes and click on "iTunes" in the menu bar and then on "Preferences".
2. Use "General" to go to "Import Settings" and "Import". Select the "AAC Encoder" and the "Higher Quality".
3. Now you can select the song you want in iTunes. If it is not available, you need to import the song before by drag & Drop into the library.
4. Right-click on the entry to get to the "Information" and can specify via "Options", which area of the song should be used.
5. Click again on the title and select "Create AAC version".
