How to recover deleted files

Files deleted from Recycle Bin are often not completely lost and can be recovered with the help of special recovery tools. The free recovery tool Recuva, for example, allows you to recover files you thought were lost.

1. Install Recuva and then launch the application.
2. Follow the wizard and specify which files you want to search for.
3. Click "Start" to search the hard drive.
4. Once the search is complete, Recuva lists all the files found. The file status is shown via a colored circle. Green means that the file can be recovered without problems. Files that have the status orange or red can often only be partially recovered or not recovered at all.
5. Select the files you want to recover and click "Recover".
6. Specify the directory to which Recuva should recover the files.

How to recover files from the Recycle Bin

Files located in the Recycle Bin can be recovered without extra software.
