Wanted Picasa alternatives? Four programs in check

Despite the discontinuation of Picasa, Google is by no means planning to get out of the photo business. Previous Picasa users were supposed to switch to the "Google Photos" photo cloud. If you used Picasa before, you don't have to switch directly to Google Photos. Regardless of the many qualities of the service, it is still worth looking at Picasa alternatives that do not come from Google.

• XnView: With XnView, you can literally open, convert and edit all file formats. The design of the program does not look very modern, but the range of functions can be seen. However, the possibility to import other media, a burn function or an HTML album is missing here.
• Magix Photo Manager: The program has a face detection and offers you quite a few options in image editing. The image management of Magix Photo Manager also knows how to convince, just like the compatibility with all common image formats, including raw files.
