Instagram: add location - these options are available

Having created an account on Instagram, you can share many situations in your life with your followers. Especially when you are on vacation, it is a good idea to take photos and post them. On Instagram, you also have the option to add a location to the picture.

How to add a location in Instagram

If you want to upload a photo in Instagram, you can additionally add a location. Note that this is only possible when uploading, not afterwards. It makes no difference whether you have just taken the picture or whether it is already older. This feature can be found on both the iPhone and Android apps.

1. Go to the Instagram app on your smartphone.
2. Click on the photo icon to select a picture with your camera. Optionally, you can use a photo that you have already taken.
3. In the next step, you now have the option to add effects or filters to your image.
4. Once you have made your selection, you will see the option "Add location". Instagram will make some suggestions below based on your device location.
5. If no suitable locations are suggested to you, click the "Add Location" button. Sie können nun über das Suchfeld nach einem Ort suchen oder aus weiteren Vorschlägen auswählen.
6. Wählen Sie den passenden Ort aus, damit dieser dem Bild hinzugefügt wird. Sie können auch manuell einen Ort anlegen, jedoch greift Instagram dafür auf die Karten von Facebook zu.
