iPhone: Clear Safari history - how to turn it on

You should clear the cache and any history in your browser every now and then. Removing stored data helps to speed up the browser a bit again after a long period of use. Also, for data security, regular cleanup of cookies and visited websites can be useful.

Deleting history in Safari - this is how it works on the iPhone

Unlike browsers on a Mac or a Windows PC, you do not delete stored data directly in the browser, but via the settings.

1. So first go to the "Settings" app with your iPhone and then look for the Safari category, which is specifically for the browser on every iPhone.
2. Now tap on the "History" entry there and then on "Delete website data". If your device is set to English, the button is called "Clear History and Website Data".
3. But note that this process will delete any data from the browser. Cookies, gespeicherte Passwörter und der Verlauf sind dann nicht wiederherstellbar.
