How to count the number of different values in Excel
Excel offers you all the functions to display or calculate different information. For these calculations you need different formulas. For example, if you want to count and output the number of all different values in a certain range, you also need the appropriate formula. In many cases, there are different ways to get a result.- First, select the cell in which you want to display the result of the count. To do this, click on the cell with the left mouse button.
- Then, at the top of the text field "fx", first enter "=". After that, write "SUM (IF (HUFIGKEIT (A1:F10; A1:F10)>0;1))". However, replace A1 with the first cell in question and F10 with the last cell to narrow down the desired range.
- Using the command "SUM(COUNT IF(A1:F10;A1:F10))", it is possible to specify how many times each value occurs. Since this is a matrix function, you must enclose the entire command in curly brackets. In addition, you must specify a result range, since for each value there is also a result value.
