Amazon Echo: Change location - how it works

With the help of the Alexa app, the Amazon Echo registers your current location and retrieves time, weather and local information accordingly. However, you can also manually change the location of the Alexa device in the app. This can be useful in many ways and saves you from overwriting your default settings.

Switching Amazon Echo location - these steps are necessary

To change the location of the Alexa device, you must of course first have set up the app accordingly. If you are just using the app for the first time, the following steps do not differ.

1. Switch to your smartphone and open the Alexa app.
2. Now navigate to the menu and select "Alexa devices" from the entries.
3. Now select the appropriate device from the list and tap on "device location".
4. Now you can specify an address where the device is currently located. At this point, this does not have to be the actual address, allowing you to retrieve information from other locations.
5. To confirm the change, tap "Save".
6. To change the country, select "Change" next to the country name.
