Word writes only red: That's the reason

If you suddenly produce only red characters when typing in an office program like Word, there is usually a specific reason for this. We explain how to fix the problem.

Too nimble fingers: "Track changes" can inadvertently cause red writing.

First things first: If you accidentally set red as the font color, of course that's the reason. However, this doesn't usually happen unnoticed - but another feature does.

Word only writes red? Mostly it is because of it

Meant is the function "Track changes". Then the font appears not only in red, but also underlined.
  • This can namely be activated via shortcut "Ctrl "+ "Shift" + "E", which can sometimes happen by accident when typing quickly on the keyboard.
  • Just open the tab "Review" and disable "Track changes".
After that, the font color in Word should appear again as desired.
